  4. The Virtual Explorer allows you to navigate virtual worlds.
  5. It is just for fun. There are no riddles or puzzles to solve.

  7. This program is SHAREWARE 
  8. It and its related documentation (including the folder "V/EXP Data")
  9. may be freely copied provided that they remain fully intact and unchanged in any way.
  10. (Note: "V/EXP Data" contains invisible files and must be copied as a complete folder.)
  11. We allow the provision for the program its data and its documentation to be copied independently (each carries its own "SHAREWARE" notice). This should assist "internet" 
  12. and "floppy disk" distribution.

  53. Clicking on a path moves you forward.
  54. Clicking on the edge of the screen picture turns you to the nearest pathway 
  55. in that direction (up to 180 degrees).

  57. You can save a location with               Command - S
  58. You can load a saved location with      Command - L
  59. Quit                                                     Command - Q

  61. This application supports the normal "Apple Finder" operations namely,
  62. if you double click a data file you will be taken to that data,
  63. if you double click a location file you will be taken to that location.

  71. Macintosh with a 68020 or greater processor, including Power Macintosh.
  72. System 7.0 or greater.

  77. Runs best in millions of colours (4500K+)
  78. If this is not possible - 256 colours (2500K) [Screen transitions will be compromised.]

  80. Speed Considerations:

  82. The "Virtual Explorer" speed in general depends on disk access time.
  83. If you find it runs slow on your system you may wish to consider installing a CD-ROM Disk Cache system such as FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit that caches File & Folder information. This will improve access speed.
  84. (Indeed the World 01 Data Disk has been optimised to run well with FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit.)

  86. If you are running in millions of colours and find the screen transitions too slow then the following remedy should help.
  87. 1. Before launching the program select 256 cols from the "Monitors" Control Panel.
  88. 2. Launch the "Virtual Explorer" Application.
  89. 3. Answer "No" to the request to "Change the mode of your monitor"
  90. This will result in faster but less elegant screen transitions.
